The Tesla's Summon feature is now a well known feature of the electric car - but not everyone is up to date on the car's autonomous mode, which makes playing pranks that much easier

In this case, the prank is played by a father on his son, who innocently sits in the Tesla when it suddenly stirs to life and begins moving. The kid is understandably panicky and even tries asking the car to stop. (Hey, would you have grabbed the wheel at such a young age in that situation? Yeah, right.)

The freak out only lasts a few seconds as the dad, who caught everything via a hidden GoPro, shows up and stops the car while grinning at his son's robot takeover panic. We don't advise anyone try this on their own family, but this is video is a great peek into our collective societal transition from expecting to manually control cars into the age of expecting cars to operate on their ownRead more...

Coparenting

Technology may be ending the need for face-to-face interaction and, sometimes, that can be a good thing

A University of Missouri study looked at how 49 divorced parents used technology to communicate with their exes. The study mostly looked at mothers with a wide range of post-divorce interactions, from very positive to very negative.

Parents in positive co-parenting situations found technology to be an effective tool for maintaining two households. The study also found that email often helped parents to deescalate fraught conversations

Yet, parents in contentious divorces often used technology to control situations or limit information. In the end, technology is only as reliable as the parents who use it Read more...
